Because You Matter to God and to Us

Thanks for visiting our website. Our church exists and serves because you matter to God and to us. That is the heart of the good news about Jesus Christ: God loved the world so much that he sent Jesus to save us from our sin, restore us to God, and heal all the damage sin does to us, our relationships, and our world. He's an amazing Savior!

We call our church "New Life" because we believe anyone can find new life in Christ. We are a diverse community of broken people who have come to believe and experience the good news of the Gospel: that God can save and change anyone. His grace is greater than anything in any of us. Our vision is to be "a thriving family in the city where the broken from all nations are made alive and whole, finding hope and purpose in Jesus."

I invite you to come join us on this journey of faith. We are seeking to follow Jesus in Philadelphia and beyond, out into the nations in mission. We are a "come as you are" kind of church. No need to dress up or clean up. Just show up, and see what God can do. You will find a place in God's family with us.

Warmly in Christ,  Pastor John

  • What to Expect

    What is the service like?

A typical service at New Life lasts about an hour and a half. The praise and worship is contemporary in style and the messages are grace-centered and life-changing. Please make yourself at home and participate as you feel comfortable.

    How should I dress?

New Life Church doesn’t have a dress code, so you’ll see all styles of dress at New Life, which means you should feel comfortable regardless of your attire. Come dressed as you like in a suit or in jeans.

What do I do with my children?

At New Life, we have an amazing team of children's workers ready to minister to your kids from birth to 5th grade.

A Nursery is available for children under 3 from 9:30 - 12:45 in the Ministry Center.

    Classes for children 3 years old through 5th grade are available from 9:30 - 10: 30 and 11:30 - 12:45.

Come to the Children's Check-In station in the front lobby of the Ministry Center when you arrive.

Our children’s and nursery classes have been developed with your child’s security — and your peace of mind — at the forefront, which is why we do background checks on every person ministering or teaching in our children's departments. Your children will be cared for and taught by loving, trained volunteers in a secure environment.

Please check out the Teens page for ways students in 6th - 12th grade can be involved at New Life.

About Our logo

What I love about our new logo (Fall 2016) is its clean simple look and its layers of meaning.

What do you see when you look at it?

  • Start at the center. There you see the cross. Jesus Christ is at the center of our life and mission.
  • Huddled around the cross are four stylized people: heads toward the cross, arms extended toward each other. We huddle around the cross of Christ in a circle of fellowship and ministry.
  • Outside the box you see arrows pointing to the right and left. They create a sense of movement and direction. You might also notice that the people huddled around the cross also look like arrows pointing outward. We are constantly on the move out into the world in Gospel mission.
  • Finally the color: a rich, vibrant green. The color of life. We come from all nations, we are all colors, but we are all "green" because we are made alive in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus!

If you see other meanings in our logo (and I'll bet there are more to be found), please let us know!

Blessings in Christ, Pastor John
