The purpose of “The Elders Council” is to foster more intentional partnership in the Gospel between the Elders and the Elders Council members, for a one-year period of time. The members of the Council assist the Session in providing a “congregational perspective” on pastoral and administrative issues, joining elders in pastoral care, and developing their own gifts for leadership in the church.
The hope is that those who serve would emerge from this yearlong partnership more fully and fruitfully engaged in the life and ministry of the church.

Grace Haymes
Born and raised in a PCA Pastor’s home, Grace is no stranger to session meetings. However, she has never attended one and is delighted to be on the Elders’ Council in order to see the inner workings of the church firsthand as well as be able to contribute help where she can.
Her growing up years were spent in the Midwest where her father was a pastor and principal of a boarding school. She attended Covenant College where she studied French, English and Music. God has given her a wonderful husband Bob, and three children Ethan (22), Emily (19), and Jak (14). She has had various jobs through the years, including teaching, instructing, administration, and technical writing.
Grace loves to read, write, garden, and practice her new-found hobby – knitting!
